I used to follow the same script everyone else did in sales: handle every objection, keep the conversation going until the lead finally gave in.

But after a while, I noticed something - these clients were the worst when it came to fulfillment. The ones I had to work the hardest to close on the front-end, ended up being a drain on my time and energy on the back-end. So, I decided to break the rules.

I set a simple boundary: three questions, and that’s it. After that, I’d disengage politely, send them additional info, and move on to the next lead.

I’d of course check-in and regularly follow-up, but as someone who was handling my own fulfillment in addition to sales, I didn’t have the extra time to spend with leads that were far far away from their buying decision, when the person who was ready to go was right around the corner.

If I stay messing with the ‘20 questions but I have no intention of buying anytime soon’ lead, I’m gonna miss them.

People in my office thought I was crazy, and they tried to prove me wrong with marathon sales calls, overcoming objection after objection. But here’s what happened - those clients rarely closed. Time spent answering endless questions was wasted.

Did you know that 48% of content marketers struggle with scaling their content production due to inefficient processes?

A few months ago, I was drowning in all the steps it took to create content consistently. Then it hit me: I could use the same idea of constraints I created when dealing with needy leads to save me hours with content creation too.

I realized I was spending way too long starting from scratch for every single post. I was over-complicating the process.

So I revisited something I had stopped doing after all the ‘gooroos’ were telling everyone it was a terrible way to write - creating branded templates.

Instead of overthinking every post, I streamlined my content into a few repeatable formats that I could apply to any topic. Now, I just plug in the details, and create.

Here’s how I simplified my content creation with my F.A.S.T. Framework:

• F – Focus on Essentials: Identify the core elements of your content and stick to them.

• A – Automate the Structure: Use AI to help you create branded templates to avoid starting from scratch with every post.

• S – Streamline the Process: Now that you’ve got some branded templates, decide the 1-2 you're going to focus on.

• T – Test and Refine: Get your content out there using your new templates and tweak based on signal.

Why This Works:

When I set boundaries on sales calls, I freed up hours to focus on leads who were ready for my offer.

By applying that same mindset to content creation, I’ve been able to streamline my process and focus on the more important assets of personal brand building - engaging and making friends.

Here’s what you’ll get out of it:

• More time to create without getting bogged down by unnecessary steps.

• Mental clarity from a simplified, repeatable process.

• A system that allows you to quickly identify winners and losers with your content. If the template is the same, then the only variable is the content itself.

“Stop playing by the old rules - they’re just slowing you down.”

Your Turn

Take a look at your content creation process.

What’s the main type of content you create? What has gotten you more of the metrics that matter to you?

After you’ve identified it, build one simple template today, and see how much easier creating content becomes.
