Here’s how I replaced my limiting beliefs -and how you can too
It’s quicker than you think to spot what’s holding you back.
I remember sitting at a conference last year, watching this guy next to me crank out AI prompts like it was second nature. That ish looked like pure MAGIC to me at the time.
I first thought to myself: “I’ll never get that good.”
Then my ego kicked in: “I’ll nail that ish in three months - TOPS!”
Spoiler Alert: I did NOT nail it in 3 months.
It took nearly a year before I felt like I had any real command over AI. For months I was grinding, making tiny moves forward, never feeling like I was quite 'getting it’.
Then last week, a big 𝕏 creator came to me for help with 2 mega prompts he wanted to create. After a few questions, I - built • tested • and troubleshot - both prompts in an hour, getting this response the next morning:
“Wow, this is f*cking awesome.”
That kind of speed doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from the slow, steady growth that most people don’t want to talk about - or do.
Did you know that 50% of business leaders report struggling with self-doubt and limiting beliefs that almost tanked their business?
I almost quit learning AI because, at the pace I was going, it seemed like I’d never get it. How different my life would be right now if I had. All of my current opportunities are related to the AI expertise I’ve built during this slow grind.
Here’s how I used my R.I.O.T. Framework to replace those limiting beliefs with something that actually kept me moving forward:
• R – Recognize the Belief: What’s the story you keep telling yourself? “I’m not good enough,” or “I’ll never master this.”
• I – Identify the Source: Where did this belief come from? A past failure? Comparing yourself to someone else?
• O – Own the Process: You’ve got to own your journey. It’s going to take time, but every small step compounds.
• T – Test a New Belief: Try something different. Instead of “I’ll never be good enough,” try “I’m getting better every day.” Test that new belief and watch how it changes your approach.
Why This Works
Limiting beliefs are silent killers. They keep you from even trying, or worse, make you quit before you’ve given yourself a chance to succeed. This framework allows you to stay in the game when you’re talking yourself into going back to the bench.
Here’s what you’ll get out of it:
• You stop wasting time in self-doubt and start moving with purpose.
• Progress, even if it’s slow, starts to feel like real movement forward.
• You gain confidence with every small win, making the big wins inevitable.
“Slow progress beats no progress every time.”
Your Turn:
Take a hard look at what you're currently saying when you talk to yourself.
What’s the #1 limiting belief that’s been slowing you down? Strip it down to the root cause, then replace it with a new belief today.
You’ll be surprised at how fast things start moving when you stop believing the BS story you’ve been telling yourself.
